Lenny Simpson Tennis and Education Fund

 

MISSION

 

To provide a year round program to at-risk youth that provides Tennis instruction and academic support in an environment that builds self-esteem, character and life skills, regardless of socio-economic background, color or creed.  To promote tennis as an alternative to negative recreation and create an atmosphere that values respect, honesty, sportsmanship, discipline, education and success. The program will focus initially on the Greater Wilmington, NC area. 

 

 

 

FUTURE PLANS

 

The Lenny Simpson Tennis and Education Fund has plans underway to form a Junior Development Team with 30 of the most promising young tennis players in the area. In addition to expanding the academic component of the regular One Love Program, we will also develop an Academy of Academic Excellence to tutor these 30 young athletes in the three R’s and in practical subjects such as budgeting, banking, and fiscal responsibility. We’re seeking sponsors for this program too.
